A mix of minds and extended time on photo and video results in creative freedom to expand our services. And sometimes, intentionally breaking the process creates opportunity for brilliant ideas.
A s soon as Dr. Taline Aghajanian decided to become a dentist, she knew she wanted to be one that won over patients with dental anxiety. After all, that was her story. A terrifying childhood experience at the dentist led to Dr. Taline, then a college student, not seeking help when she really needed it. Finally she landed in the office of a dentist who changed her life: first by getting her out of pain, and secondly by inspiring her to change careers.
When Dr. Taline and her husband Zareh, a creative director, came to us to redesign her dental website, they were looking for a perfect balance of professional and personal, presented in a beautiful way.
This would communicate who Dr. Taline is as a dentist and pull in patients seeking some compassion and understanding along with their treatment.
Having a Creative Director on the client’s side to work with our Creative Strategist led to some of the best collaborative ideas we’ve ever executed and (if we do say so ourselves) one of the most beautiful sites we’ve ever created.

W hen Zareh and I first started to collaborate, it became clear that this could become a more elaborate project – in an exciting way. They chose to add an additional production session so we could shoot in multiple locations. As the project grew, the production team and I decided to create a pitch deck. This isn’t something we do for every client, but it helped us form a detailed vision for the photo and video we planned to capture to tell their story.
We also made it a priority to highlight Dr. Taline as a doctor who really cares about her community. That led to the unique patient gallery on the website, which we had to plan for by having those patients at the photo session. Connecting the stories to faces of real patients brought forth a really personal, emotional aspect of this website.
Josh Brown, Senior Creative Strategist
With extended and additional sessions, we can involve more creative minds on a project, which creates an elevated sense of confidence and motivation for us. That, in turn, makes for a better experience and beautiful outcome for the client. Our time in the outdoor shopping center was a unique opportunity to get some more artistic, lifestyle shots and develop a better relationship with the doctor before our second day of shooting.
Jenna Van Kley, Videographer
With two full days of production, it was clear that photo and video were going to be the absolute stars of the website. More video means more moving pieces and parts, so when it came to building the website we actually approached it development-first. Usually development adds energy and movement to our designs. This time we had specific development features in mind, and design was there to make sure everything was balanced for a quality user experience.

Traditional smile galleries and before/after's just weren't going to fit into this project's elegant, pristine look. On the second day of shooting we were able to capture each patient model’s smile and story to showcase Dr. Taline’s high-quality dental work in a really personal way. The Patient Gallery captures premium dentistry alongside real-world stories about how a new smile affected real patients.

S pecialty Sites always start with a site map, which is crucial to the user experience on large sites. You're quite literally building the bones of the site, which, in my experience, is the hardest part. Nothing is set in stone so it can be anything. There's a lot of experimentation involved, but there's nothing more satisfying than connecting the dots and creating copy that flows well for the visitor.
Katie Siegel, Copywriter
In terms of digital experience, I’m especially proud of the navigation menu. When you hover over each menu item on desktop, a video clip plays, which gives the site an engaging and dynamic feel. It was a unique concept that the team came up with, and I’m glad I was able to bring it to life for a truly immersive digital experience.
Alexis Quintuña, Web Developer
We delivered a website that will influence websites to come. My favorite part of this project was seeing and hearing how happy everyone was with the final product. That goes for the client and the 8E8 team. I know I say that every time, but it's true: seeing team members step up to the challenge and continuously improve on the standards and expectations we set for ourselves is amazing and inspiring.
Josh Brown, Senior Creative Strategist
The project reaffirmed the importance of embracing new ideas, trying different approaches, and listening to others’ perspectives—key elements in continually improving my craft as a developer. The combination of high-quality visuals and interactive elements really enhances the user experience and makes the site stand out.
Alexis Quintuña, Web Developer
Ifelt relaxed the entire time. Studio EightyEight made it so easy for my team and me to get on camera and talk comfortably. That's just talent right there. It was so wonderful. I couldn't wait to see the final product, and once I did, I was blown away!
